How to Provision Proxy Readers using the Proxy Device Manager

To add and provision a reader, you must do so using the Proxy Device Manager app.

Note: To add a Proxy reader, you need to be close enough to it for the reader and your phone to interact with each other and you must be an Admin of the Organization. 

1. Open the Proxy Device Manager app and log in with your admin account.

2. Tap the 'New Devices' card. 

3. Select the device you'd like to provision. If you have multiple devices pick the one indicated as the closest. Tip: Click "unlock" and identify which reader beeps and blinks a green light to confirm which reader you are working with.

4. iOS users - Tap 'Register Device." Android users - Tap 'Device Registration.'

5. Update the reader name by tapping 'Update Name.' Enter the Reader Name. For example, "Proxy Front Door." Tip: Keep the (pr-xxxx) to have as a secondary identifier.

6. To provision to a new Organization, tap "Create New Account" and add new Account/Organization name. 

7. To provision to an existing Organization, tap "Add to Existing Account." You will be selecting from all the Organizations for which you are an Admin.

8. iOS users - scroll through the Organization names, select the correct Organization and click 'Register." Android users - tap 'Select Owner' and select the correct Organization on the pop-up list. Click the Red Check mark at the bottom of the screen to save changes.

9. Assign the Reader to the appropriate Permissions in the Proxy Dashboard to ensure the correct users will be able to access. See Provisioning Readers Using the Proxy Dashboard and Proxy Device Manager App for more detail on how to do this.
