To update the firmware and software on a Proxy reader, you will need to use the Proxy Device Manager app and be close enough to the reader for the reader and your phone to interact with each other.
Step 1: Log into the Proxy Device Manager app with your admin account.
Step 2: Select the card of the Org to which the reader you want to update belongs.
Step 3: Select the Proxy reader you wish to update. If there are multiple readers nearby, you can update them simultaneously, but you will have to kick them off one at a time. You will see an orange "Update" symbol on the card indicating that an update is available for the reader.
Step 4: Click on the "Software" tab.
Step 5: Select the update type. In order to update via Wi-Fi, which is the faster method, you must first configure the Wi-Fi credentials for the reader (find out how in our article here). If you choose to update via Bluetooth, make sure that the phone is close to the Reader during the update process.
Step 6: Once the update has gone through, the reader will reboot itself. To finalize the process, click the "Done" button.
